Well,
it’s time once again for my year-end column. Where I take a
look at what was good, what was bad, and who deserves a stupid
sign. I don’t just limit my observations to the world of PC
Football either, no one is safe in this column.
Not
even me…
OK
I’ll be the first to admit that the forums haven’t exactly
been burning up the internet and I will take some of the blame
for that. However, I have still been getting a lot of nice
e-mails from some of you about the files that we host here,
and even some new ones for Madden NFL ’06. True, we are not
at a level of say a MVPMods.com but we still have our little
niche.
Now
true there may be more posters over at BlindSideBlitz or
Football-Freaks at the moment, but that’s okay. As long as
this site can still act as a resource for all of the PC
Football games past, present and future then I will be a happy
camper.
What
would make me even happier is if more people would buy a
Rainbow Cleaning System from me so that I can pay my mortgage
and even more importantly, pay part of the repair bill on my
car. Yeah, Progressive is trying to dick me around on the
repairs to my car after I got rear-ended a couple of weeks
ago. They don’t want to pay for the full cost of what
it’ll take to fix my car so they want to total it instead.
Problem is the amount they are offering me to total it isn’t
nearly enough to replace the car I have,
So
now that I have been experiencing headaches and some back pain
when I wake up in the morning I am going to go see a doctor or
two and see what is going on.
But
enough of that, you came here to read about…
The
Good, The Bad, and the downright Idiotic
Good
– Madden NFL ’06 comes out for the PC.
Annoying
– The QB Vision. Has anyone actually gotten the hang of this
let alone gotten it to work properly?
Good
– A third-party roster editor that can be used for Madden
2004, 2005, and apparently ’06!
Bad
– That it took so long to accomplish.
Good
– The deal with EA Sports, the NFL and ESPN didn’t result
in an increase in the price for Madden.
Bad
– the changes will take place with Madden
NFL ’07 so we are all still in “wait and see” mode.
Good
– Blitz makes a comeback.
Bad
– Not for the PC it doesn’t!
Good
– NCAA Football is still around.
Bad
– Not for the PC it’s not!
Silver
Lining – Grey Dog Software’s “Bowl
Bound College Football”
Note:
I never thought I could get into a sports title that didn’t
feature a whole lot of graphics showing the players on the
field, yet somehow, I find myself really into this game! Who
would have thought that I would be entertained by a text-based
game? True, you don’t have the real names of the players
currently playing Div 1-A football right now, but there is
supposed to be a patch coming out soon that will feature a
player editor. Meaning I will be able to play with Reggie Bush
instead of Curt McCoy soon.
Good
– Maximum Football finds a distributor.
Bad
– Still no release date ?!?!?
Good
- MVPMods.com
Bad
– They are what we want to be.
Good
– MVP Baseball 2005
Bad
– Rest in Peace. DAMN YOU TAKE-TWO!!!!
Good
– MVP Baseball 2006: The Road to
Omaha
. Take THAT Take-Two!
Bad
– WADDYA MEAN IT’S NOT COMING OUT FOR THE PC!?!?!
Good
– More and more people are talking about video games.
Bad
– It seems as if they only want to talk about how bad an
influence on children they are, never mind that the majority
of video gamers are adults.
Idiotic
– Jack Thompson, Leeland Yee, Hillary Clinton, Take-Two,
RockStar Games, Patrick Wildenborg, and anybody else out there
that I may have missed who tried to make their career on the
backs of video gamers because of the “Hot Coffee” mod.
Good
– Movies are coming out based on video games.
Bad
– Oversaturation perhaps? Doom
is out and we have BloodRayne
to follow, but can someone, please, for the love of merciful
God above convince Peter Jackson to get in the director’s
chair so that someone else doesn’t screw up Halo?
Rest
in Peace – Rosa Parks, Johnny Carson, John Paul II, John
Spencer (Leo, “The West Wing”), Peter Jennings, Johnnie
Cochran, Frank Gorshin (The Riddler “Batman”), Bob Denver
(Gilligan “Gilligan’s Island”), James Doohan (Scotty
“Star Trek”), Don Adams (Maxwell Smart “Get Smart”).
Richard Pryor.
Good
– Christmas time is here!
Idiotic
– All of the Politically Correct and Religiously Correct
yayhoos have come out of the woodwork in an attempt to spoil
my holiday!
Look,
I will call the season what I want to call the season. I have
always called it Christmas and if anyone gets offended by that
then they can just bend over, pucker up and kiss my hairy
Italian Ass!!!
Good
– W admits that he has made some mistakes and that he is
human.
Bad
– Too little, too late for all of our dead soldiers and
their families.
Request
– Can someone please give the man a blowjob so he can be
impeached?!?
Good
– Political discussion has never been more active in this
country.
Bad
– This black and white attitude of you are either a Patriot
or a Traitor who deserves to be beaten and killed.
Correction
- Make that a "Red and Blue" attitude.
Good
– USC and
Texas
in the Rose Bowl. The BCS finally got it right.
Bad
– Still no playoff in sight.
Good
– The White Sox break the “Curse of the Black Sox”.
Bad
– Still no joy in Cubville.
Good
– Lance Armstrong.
Idiotic
– All the Lance haters who want to tear him down. Sure
he’s on drugs…IT’S CALLED CHEMOTHERAPY DIPSHIT!!!!!!!!!
Good
– I’ve made a few sales of the Rainbow Cleaning System.
Bad
– I haven’t made enough sales to support us.
Really
bad – The idea that I’m coming to cheat people when I go
into their homes.
Idiotic
– the people that I show the Rainbow to who say that they
don’t see the value in the product or that it’s not worth
what we are asking for it. Don’t tell me that there’s no
value in the product, if you can’t see what it can do for
you and your family then here’s your sign…
Coulda
told ya it would happen – Britney kicks out Kevin.
Who
cares? – Bradgelina.
Good
– New Orleans Saints are the new “
America
’s Team”.
Bad
– It took Hurricaine Katrina to make it happen.
Good
– the intentions of a bunch of high school students in
Oregon
who wanted to have a Halo 2 tournament to raise money for
Tsunami relief.
Idiotic
– The School board cancelling the fund raiser because they
didn’t want the possibility of students copying the violent
gameplay in the hallways. No tournament, no money, no brains
either. Pretty damn selfish if you ask me.
I
wonder if that same school board cancelled Christmas this year
because it is not considered Politically Correct?
Back
– Our founder Bret Bednarz who took over the reigns on the
forums from me so I could concentrate on getting my new yob
going.
Missing
in Action – speaking of which, Bret where are you man?
It’s been a while since we heard from you.
For
that matter it’s been a while since we’ve heard from
Croydo, ‘Bama, Gunny and a lot of you others out there.
I
know that one of the reasons postings dropped off the way they
did is because people were saying that this place wasn’t fun
anymore.
Well
the thing that makes this place fun is you guys and your
participation.
I
myself have been guilty of letting this place slide due to a
lack of posts on my part. I hope to rectify that situation in
2006.
I
have looked over the number of columns that I have written in
the last year and this has been the least productive year I
have had, ever. Even my takes on my personal site have been
few and far between.
But
I hope to correct that in the coming year because as it turns
out I still have a lot to say on certain subjects, and I hope
to be able to vent my spleen more often.
So,
in the spirit of the holiday season I would like to say to you
all…
May
you have a safe, joyous, happy and …
A
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!
Or
if you absolutely prefer a “Politically Correct”
version…
May
you all have a safe, joyous, merry and…
Happy
ChristmaHanuKwanzukka!!!
Until
next year…
