put real names on the teams if you want. Just email me letting
me know that you are posting them on the net if you dedide to do

How to
upload the art:
#1:
Extract the folder
#2: Take
all the files from the folder labeled teams and put them in the
Custom art folder. My Documents/Madden 2005/Custom art
#3 Then
you take the file labeled ncaa roster.ros and put that in the
Roster folder
My
Documents/Madden 2005/Roster
#4 Load up
the game then click file, click on the roster name then load.

I first created the rosters for the FDNY Bravest and the NYPD Finest
for Madden 2002 after seeing a TV special about the football game
between the Firemen and the Cops on NBC. It was a tradition that
I had kept up until last year when it was discovered that rosters
from Madden 2004 could be imported into Madden 2005.
Well this year I have decided to take up the tradition again for
Madden 2005 and to give that game its own set of rosters. Only I have
not stopped with the NYPD and the FDNY teams. Both teams are part of
the National Public Safety Football League, so this year with the
ability to have custom teams in 2005 franchises (thank you
OzWolf), I have provided the other teams that are in the league as well.
The team roster is as follows:
FDNY Bravest
NYPD Finest
Philadelphia Blue Flame
DSNY Strongest
Orlando Guardians
DFW Panthers
Houston Gunners
Phoenix Thunder
L.A. Heat
California Blue Knights
Orange County Lawmen
L.A. Centurions
All of these teams are represented by their actual team colors, logos
and uniforms. All teams save for the Strongest, Gunners and Blue Knights
have the actual names, numbers and physical dimensions (where found)
of the actual players on each team.
To load the teams into Madden 2005 follow these instructions for Windows XP (substitute ‘Joe Gandolfo’ for the name on your system):

From the roster file inside Madden 2005 click on Import Team. There
you will see a list of teams available to be imported into your roster.
Click on the team that you want and it will now be in that roster file.
Be sure to save your changes before you exit.
I have also included a file in Excel format that will give you the
seating dimension of the stadiums that each team plays in. Using this
you will be able to enter in those values should you wish to play
these teams in franchise mode using OzWolf's Madden Team Swapper.
Sliders that can be used for each team will be released soon.
In the meantime, enjoy these rosters.

Muscle Mike's Historic Roster for Madden 2004 PC:
Corrected numbers, correct names, look-alike player faces, actual padding
and facemasks (where available), and added custom teams.
***A special thanks goes out to Nza and gommo, 2 terrific programmers who
created editors to work around EA's limits. These editors enable us to
give any number to any player (including duplicate #s and 0), the ability
to change player info like faces and colleges, and more recently they
cracked the shoe code and now we can give teams black or team colored cleats!

This is the best and most accurate Historic Madden roster available.
I have seen a few other attempts at classic NFL custom teams and I am
not impressed. I notice many of their screenshots have incorrect uniform
designs/colors and teams from the 60s-70s are wearing 2003 gear!
I have been creating classic rosters for computer games since 1993 with
Front Page Sports Football.

**SPECIAL NOTE**
I never purchased Madden 2005 due to EA ignoring many PC requests to fix
the editing of numbers and add more options for creating custom teams.
Instead they took away custom teams franchising and added the stupid
create-a-fan. Those idiots still haven't put in the option to use custom
playbooks for the CPU! *REMINDER*
Don't forget to download my MikeData zip folder which contains all the
helmets and logos for my custom teams. Without these files the custom
teams will have blank helmets and no logos when you play. **WARNING!! READ BEFORE YOU VIEW ANY PLAYERS!**
About the Historic Teams fixed jersey# rosters:
"WRs, DE/DTs, and LBs are LIMITED to what jersey numbers they can have!"
Be careful when you go to view some of the players that were recreated
with their original jersey numbers. Some examples of what I am referring
to are Randy White, a DT with # 54; Jack Youngblood, a DE with # 85; Ray
Nitschke, a MLB with # 66; Cliff Branch, a WR with # 21, Harold Jackson,
a WR with # 29; and other players that are WRs, DE/DTs, and LBs.
These players could not be given their actual numbers in Madden 2OO4
due to a limitation by the makers, so I had to trick the game into
thinking there were no other numbers available for their position.
Only then could I choose the numbers I wanted for WRs, DE/DTs, and LBs.
There are approximately 5O players that I had to give the special fix
to their numbers.
**BE CAREFUL!**
If you go in to look at these fixed players through "player edit", the
number will be whiped off and a random number will take its place.
For example, let's say you want to look at Cliff Branch's face, a WR
with # 21. Once you open it up to look, the # 21 gets whiped off and a
random number like # 11 will replace it. This is a BUG on the jersey
numbers for these. The replaced #11 will STICK....
**UNLESS**
...you select CANCEL when exiting the player edit area. Hitting CANCEL
will RESET the number to the correct one that I had made. It shouldn't
have to be this way, and it is a major hassle, but unfortunately EA
screwed up on this part! If you must view the players, you can see them
on the field with their correct numbers.
My advice is to click on CANCEL if you accidently go into edit on ANY
players. The number I gave them will not change and get messed up if you
hit CANCEL when exiting. If you mess up the number, the team loses
credibility as far as accuracy goes. They are difficult to fix.
Explanation on what EA screwed up.
For some reason, this is the jersey number logic (cough!):
**DE/DTs can ONLY have jersey numbers in the 60s, 70s, or 90s!
**WRs can ONLY have jersey numbers in the 80s or teens!
**LBs can ONLY have jersey numbers in the 50s or 90s!
**Centers can ONLY have jersey numbers in the 50s, 60s, or 70s!
But.....
**QBs, RBs, Guards, Tackles, DBs, Kickers, & Punters can have ANY number
from 1 to 99. Go figger that one!
So if you see any player that does not conform to EA's number system,
these are the ones I am referring to. EA does not allow these players to
have any other number by conventional methods. (AND those idiots never
fixed it for 2005 PC!)

These team art data files are set to the specific Historic Team's custom
art and when extracted into the proper file they will be in place when
you start a game. Without these data files the custom teams would have no
logos and a blank helmet.

and the Claw helmet (from the Vick to T.O. commercial) were made by myself.
The Rams are the most difficult to do by far. No one else has done Ram helmets
for Madden.
